Green Energy Lab at Mission Innovation Week

The Mission Innovation Austria Week is the new annual event on innovative energy systems at which Austrian and international thought leaders meet to discuss tomorrow’s energy solutions. Green Energy Lab is organizing several parts of the program and we look forward to a lively exchange with current and potential partners.

From May 6 to 10, 2019, the Mission Innovation Week, initiated by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation, and Technology, will take place in Stegersbach and Oberwart in Burgenland.

Visitors can expect a varied program with insights into new technologies, current developments in the field of energy communities and outstanding examples of market and export successes of Austrian technologies. In interdisciplinary discussion rounds, the question will be explored to what extent technological trends and basic political conditions influence the implementation of innovative energy solutions: What potential do new Austrian technologies have on the world markets? What contribution can they make to achieving climate and energy goals? But the same goes for what is needed in the regions and how can municipalities become enablers for the conversion of the energy system?

Exciting side events complement the conference program:

May 9, 2019, afternoon, Oberwart: Interactive Technology Workshop with Citizens

On Thursday, May 9, 2019, in the afternoon, an interactive workshop with citizens from the region will take place as part of the technology exhibition, which will be co-organized by Green Energy Lab and its partners. According to the motto that lasting impressions of technological progress can best be kept in memory through experiences, visitors to the conference have the opportunity to get to know prototypes and products first-hand. In a workshop, Green Energy Lab offers the opportunity for a discourse between technology pioneers and potential users and above all lets the end customers themselves have their say.

May 10, 2019, 09:30 to 12:30, Stegersbach: 2nd Innovator Circle Event

The highlight for all Innovator Circle members of Green Energy Lab is the 2nd Innovator Circle Event, which takes place on 10 May 2019 from 09:30 to 12:30 in Stegersbach. This event is all about generating new Green Energy Lab project ideas that will be implemented as part of the FTI’s initiative Flagship region Energy and other funding and financing opportunities. The event will be introduced with a keynote lecture by Mag. Urban Peyker, program manager of the Flagship region Energy at FFG, at which in-depth insights will be offered on the next open call for ideas within the program Flagship region Energy. Thus, the event is not only a crystallization point for new project ideas, but also provides essential impulses for the further development of existing project ideas in accordance with production requirements.
