Topics for the Open Call

Our current open call for ideas focuses primarily on three topics.

Digitization enables customer-oriented solutions


- Identify end-users of smart meter data and demonstrate to them the benefits of smart meter data, e.g. through
   - applications for individual customers and groups of customers
   - applications in both the electricity and the heating sectors
   - variable energy prices
- Enhance Customer comfort &customer behaviour: enable individual adaptations, e.g. through
   - front-end applications
   - gamification
   - flexible tariff models

Future-oriented energy services for a defined target group in the field of generating renewable energy and energy use as well as in energy efficiency


- Direct use of energy generated through regional renewable technologies
- System and market integration or activation of buildings and building complexes

- Diverse target groups (for example): grid operators, commercial enterprises, tourism, etc

Implementation Paths for Green Energy Lab Projects

The following implementation paths are available for projects within Green Energy Lab. The preferred implementation path will be chosen in the course of the project development.

Flagship region Energy

Inclusion in the process for submissions under the third call for proposals of the FTI initiative “Flagship region Energy”. Implementation is expected to take place via research and environmental funding instruments in co-operation with the Österreichischen Forschungsförderungsgesellschaft (FFG) and Kommunalkredit Public Consulting (KPC).

Implementation will take place as a defined use case with Austria’s leading energy suppliers. Budget, timing, etc. will be agreed upon individually for each use case.
